Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens is as genuine as it gets. On the way to First Energy Stadium for his introductory press conference, he was asked if he was nervous. He responded by saying that there is no reason to be nervous as long as a person believes the words coming out of their mouth. The coach is well liked by those that he has encountered and he treats everyone with the same respect that he would hope to receive from them.

He was announced as the next head coach two days before his introductory press conference. The team orchestrated a little video for him to engage the fans. During the first take, Kitchens jokingly told the camera man to 'get your [expletive] ready to roll.' The remark was followed with laughter.

Cleveland went 5-3 during the second half of the season with Kitchens as offensive coordinator.

Kitchens had been hired during the off-season. He previously served under Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians. His past included a stop with the Dallas Cowboys and he was a quarterback at the University of Alabama as well. The 43 year old did call plays during the final preseason game against the Detroit Lions before assuming the duties during the regular season.

The Browns have hired 17 head coaches during their lengthy team history. They have also had five interim head coaches during that same time period. Cleveland last hired Jackson on Jan. 13, 2016. He compiled a 3-36-1 record during his two and a half seasons with the organization. The last Browns coach to finish with a winning record was Marty Schottenheimer (44-27) from 1984-1988.
